Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department, Murfreesboro Police Department, and Rutherford County Special Operations Rescue Team (SORT) responded to a water rescue incident at the Walter Hill Dam around 12:30 Saturday afternoon (2/27/2016).

A woman who had been kayaking, found herself stuck in the middle of the East Fork of the Stones River, just 100 feet from the Walter Hill Dam. Her boat had capsized and she got swept in a current and was caught in thigh-deep waters in a section of trees and limbs in the middle of the river.
