Water & Sewer Gives Glimpse Into Future Use of Technology in the Department

The Water & Sewer Board outlined a wish list of future technologies for the department at the October 3rd meeting of the Murfreesboro City Council, including advanced metering systems and voice response, which would not only save the department money in staffing, but allow more customers to be monitored and serviced at more hours of the day.

Bids were taken for the replacement of the roof on Fire Station No. 9, the Assistant Transportation Director recommended the purchase and installation of more passenger waiting shelters along the ROVER routes, the Gateway fund was incorporated into the general fund of the 2013-2014 city budget, and with 3 councilmen missing from the meeting, including the Mayor, the group voted to defer hearing from the Director of City Schools about their City Schools Technology Plan until the next meeting.  Finally, True Blue spirit was clearly on display in the council chambers in advance of this weekend’s homecoming game, with multiple members of the council and staff sporting blue ties for the meeting.
