WGNS to Air All State Tournament Games, Beginning Friday

With the TSSAA limiting attendance to the state basketball tournament starting Friday due to COVID-19, WGNS will air all of the tournament games.

This will enable area residents and fans who have traveled to be able to keep up with the progress of the games with coverage from the TSSAA Network.

Games can be heard in Rutherford County on FM 100.5, FM 101.9 and AM 1450. The games will also be streaming on WGNSRadio.com, the station's app (free in the iTunes or Google Play store) and on your smart speaker (play WGNS on TuneIn).

Station Manager Bryan Barrett says while this is an extremely unusual situation, it's a way the station can provide local basketball fans and those who have traveled to Murfreesboro a way to experience the games. He added with the cancellation of MTSU athletics by Conference USA, there are no conflicts at this time that won't allow for full broadcasts.

The association's on-air announcers will provide game coverage of the remainder of girls state and boys state next week. WGNS' Bryan Barrett and Jon Dinkins will broadcast the Blackman boys games throughout the tournament as well.

The TSSAA is restricting access to MTSU's Murphy Center to the team, immediate family and school administrators of the qualifying schools.
