Over the last year the Rutherford County Property Assessor's Office has been working with Graduating Seniors from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro to develop creative ways to communicate what the Property Assessor does and does not do regarding valuation of property. This semester's students wrote and developed a video explaining the process.

The video was premiered during an Open House hosted by the students. The event, complete with door prizes, was attended by over 30 people on a rainy, cold December morning in the Rutherford County Property Assessor's office.

Trustee Teb Batey, Register of Deeds Heather Dawbarn, County Clerk Lisa Crowell and Assessor Rob Mitchell participated in a Town Hall discussion explaining how their offices operated and contributed to the success of Rutherford County. MTSU student Chris Weber who served as lead contact and liaison to the Assessor's office for the project was named " Assessor for the Day" by Rutherford County Assessor Rob Mitchell.
