When Scammed--Act Quickly!

Even the smartest run businesses are subject to scams. A well know local firm entered into a contract to purchase new telephones for their multi-story office building, and made a down payment of $17,000.

Executives with the defrauded business acted quickly and contacted Murfreesboro Police when installers did not show up to do the work.

In a report from Detective Sergeant John Jones, "The salesperson allegedly admitted to the client on August 2nd that she took the money and did not perform the work, and said that the money would be returned in full by August 17, 2018."

When that did not happen, Murfreesboro Police arrested the woman on Thursday (8/23/2018) and charged her with theft over $10,000.

The case is still under investigation, and NewsRadio WGNS will keep you informed.
