Will the old Murfreesboro Bank and Trust Company building be torn down or rebuilt?

Many years ago it was a bank, but currently, the building next to the judicial center on the Murfreesboro Square is being used as an office to house the District Attorney and staff.

In the 1920's, the Murfreesboro Bank and Trust Company built the bank on the north side of the public square. The building was later rebuilt in the 1950's.

The question that has arisen, what will happen to the building once the DA and the county courts move to their new structure that is nearing the end of construction?

Rutherford County Mayor Ernest Burgess says that a specialized team will do a complete survey on that building and several others that are owned by the county to determine their future use...

If the old bank building is deemed too expensive to repair, it could be torn down and turned into green space.
