The Siegel Lady Stars will have to fight through the loser's bracket in their quest for a Class AAA softball championship after Wilson Central handed them a 10-5 loss Wednesday at McKnight Field. Leadoff batter and second baseman Claire Smith had two triples in the game, scored two runs and drove in two more. The Wildcats' first baseman Katie Eakes went 3-for-4 at the plate with a first-inning home run which put Siegel behind 3-nothing early. They would get back two of those runs in the bottom of the second to come within one run. But after a scoreless third inning, Wilson Central exploded for four runs in the fourth frame. The Lady Stars' Jordee Corhron was 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI. Cede Loftis was 3-for-4 with two-runs scored. Siegel will now face elimination throughout the rest of their tournament run. Their next game will be at 11:30 Thursday morning at StarPlex #1 vs. Houston.
