Woman accused of not properly feeding child to appear in court

The local mother who was arrested after DCS notified Murfreesboro Police that she had not been properly feeding her young child will soon appear in court. 22-year old Rachel Henley’s three month old was the size of an average two week old baby. The child was hospitalized at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.

According to the CDC, a 3-month old child weights between 9 and 16 pounds. The average two week old weights between 5 and 8 pounds.

Henley was charged with aggravated child neglect, reckless endangerment and failure to appear in court. She is currently being held under a $105,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 23rd.
