Woman allegedly pays electric bill in Murfreesboro with counterfeit cash

Paying bills with counterfeit money is not what most would call a wise decision.

A Murfreesboro woman went to pay her electric bill at Murfreesboro Electric and was told that her $100 bill was a fake. The police report that WGNS obtained shows that the woman "Didn't look surprised and stated that her mother had given her the money."

The woman then attempted to retrieve the counterfeit bill and the Murfreesboro Electric employee told her she could not return it and needed to call the police. The woman then pulled out real money and paid for the bill. She left prior to police arriving.

Due to the fact she was paying a bill, police now have her full name and address. An arrest may be on the horizon.
