A 29-year old woman has been arrested after being accused of throwing a spray can of cologne at her significant other, missing and instead hitting a small child in the head. The incident occurred at a hotel on Chaffin Place Thursday night. Angela Nichole Stacey told police that nothing happened. Despite her statement, it was noted in a report that she had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. An investigator wrote in a report, “She did not smell of alcohol, but admitted to taking hydrocodone and soma.”

Police turned to the child to gather more information and upon speaking  to the 7-year old  about the incident, she evidently told authorities that Stacey apologized for throwing the cologne. Officers then located the can that was said to have a large dent in the side. As far as the child goes, she had a knot on her head where the can made impact.

Backing up to what initially led officers to Motel 6, Police found out about the incident from another hotel guest who said he heard a child scream in pain from a neighboring room and went to investigate. Once at the room in question the guest took it upon himself to remove not one, but two children. He took the kids to his room and awaited on the arrival of authorities. The Department of Children Services was contacted. The child was taken to Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

Stacey, who lives in LaVergne, will be in court on July 9, 2013. As of 10:00, Friday morning, Stacey was still behind bars and has not made bond.
