A 46 year old Sycamore Circle woman has been charged with the promotion of prostitution in Murfreesboro. Vonda Elaine Brown was arrested at her home on Tuesday when officers were summoned by her parole officer.

Once at the home, police conducted a protective sweep of the residence. Brown was visibly shaken, according to a police report. Sgt. Harry Haigh asked to search the woman's' cell phone and discovered several text messages regarding trading sexual acts for money. Some of the messages even gave an hourly rate of $250. Others suggested a half hour would be $150. It is not believed that Brown was the one trading sex for money, but that she was allegedly arranging the crime for someone else. Brown suggested she arraigned prostitutes to come and visit a man, whose name we are not releasing at this time as no charges are pending against him.
