Woman Arrested for Not Reporting her Child's Assault

Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a mother accused of failing to report the assault of her child.

At the request of 23rd District Attorney General Ray Crouch, TBI Agents began investigating the assault and subsequent hospitalization of a three-year-old boy, following an incident in February at a home on Hidden Hollow Drive. As a result of the investigation, Agents arrested and charged the boy's stepfather, Stephen Woolman, with one count of Aggravated Child Abuse.

On Monday, the Stewart County Grand Jury returned an indictment, charging Woolman's wife, Melissa Woolman (DOB 9-21-89), with one count of Child Endangerment - Failure To Report. Agents arrested her on Tuesday and booked her into the Stewart County Jail on $1,000 bond.
