Woman attacked and sprayed with pepper spray

A 59-year old Arnold Lane woman arrived home and found that an unfamiliar car was parked in the next door drive way. After she parked her car and as she was attempting to open her car door, a man appeared out of nowhere and sprayed her in the face with pepper spray. The incident unfolded around 5:30 Tuesday night.

The victim told police that the man grabbed her purse and ran, leaving her dazed and confused while unable to see due to the pepper spray.

The woman was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital where she met with Murfreesboro Detectives. The victim was treated and later released.


The case is under investigation and has been labeled an armed robbery.
