In these trying times, it is not unusual to hear about someone filling a shopping cart full of groceries and running out of the store pushing their stolen food to their car. For the second time in the past two months, such an incident has been reported. Both thefts took place at the Kroger store on South Church Street near the Indian Hills Subdivision. Before you start to feel sympathy for someone in need of food, perhaps you should hear the rest of the story…

In this most recent case reported on Monday, a female entered the store and proceeded to load her grocery cart with 10-cases of Bud Light, cookies, sweet tea, and juice – all the essentials to a healthy lifestyle.  Her shopping expedition added up to over $200.

When the subject fled the store she was evidently in such a panic to hop into her getaway vehicle that she actually left her groceries behind. That being stated, she theoretically stole the merchandise because she did in fact leave the store with the goods, but she never made it home with the groceries.

So far, she has not been caught.
