Remember earlier in the week when we told you about the fake $5 bill being used at a gas station on Old Fort Parkway? We now have another story that is similar in nature… This time, the latest victim of the phony money is the Wendy’s Corporation that own and operate Wendy’s restaurant on Memorial Blvd in Murfreesboro.

An employee at the store received a fake $20 and evidently told the customers the bill was no good. The car full of what were described as teenagers took off without their food or change.

It was the same story at the Hardees on Memorial Blvd. The exact same car full of teens tried to use another fake $20 there, but the clerk outwitted them. When he told them the cash was fake, they drove away leaving both the food and the cash.

The suspect also hit the drive-thru at Checker’s on NW Broad Street. That money, just like in the other cases, was taken into evidence by police.  A fake $20 was also recovered from the Bar-B-Cutie on Old Fort Parkway.

Police did track down the culprits and recovered yet another fake bill. The case appears to be open at this time. No names have been released at this point and charges have not yet been made public.
