RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WGNS) - High school football poll results after Week 4 show consistency across Middle Tennessee, with only one local program shifting positions in the state rankings from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
In Class 6A, Riverdale retains the No. 1 ranking with an overall record of 3-1, garnering 18 first-place votes. Maryville holds the No. 2 spot at 3-1 with one first-place vote, followed by Oakland at No. 3 with a 3-1 record. Southwind remains No. 4 with an undefeated 4-0 mark, and Oak Ridge holds No. 5 at 4-0. Antioch sits at No. 6 with a 4-0 record, followed by Brentwood at No. 7 at 3-1, and Whitehaven at No. 8 at 3-1. Blackman fell from No. 6 to No. 9 after dropping to 2-2 on the season, marking the only movement among area teams in the poll. Green Hill enters the top 10 at No. 10 with a 3-1 record. Rockvale was the only other area 6A team to receive votes in past weeks but have not been ranked despite their 4-0 record.
In Division II-A, Nashville Christian holds the top spot at No. 1 with 19 first-place votes and a 3-1 record. Jackson Christian follows at No. 2 with a 4-0 record, with University School of Jackson at No. 3 at 3-1. Friendship Christian sits at No. 4 with a 3-1 record, while Middle Tennessee Christian School holds firm at No. 5 with a 3-1 record.
