Christiana Middle School Changes In Class Opening Day to Aug. 24th Due to Positive COVID-19 Tests

Christiana Middle School will not open as scheduled this Thursday (8/13/2020) due to 2 employees at the school testing positive for COVID-19. Reports indicate that 2 additional staff members at the school have coronavirus symptoms and 10 employees are being quarantined as a precaution.

The Rutherford County operated middle school on highway 231 South will not open for students in class until Monday, August 24, 2020. Until then, Christiana Middle will move forward with distant learning, according to an audio message from county school spokesperson James Evans…



Parents will be instructed on the distant learning process through the school.

From the Rutherford County Schools: 

"Rutherford County is currently classified as HIGH spread rate with 2,818 active cases of COVID-19, which is .848187 based on percent of the county's population. (As of July 27, 2020). We are monitoring spread rate as one factor for monitoring school closures and we will keep parents informed."
