We have more news on several arrests made earlier this year in March (2022) that reportedly involved about $25,000 worth of cocaine that was confiscated by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s narcotics division. In that case, detectives conducted a search warrant at an address on Rocky Lane off of Old Lascassas Road. The warrant allowed for detectives to find and confiscate over a pound of cocaine.

Rutherford County Sheriff’s Sgt. Sedric Fields stated, “While searching the residences, detectives located approximately 1.2 pounds of cocaine, several sets of digital scales, a small amount of marijuana, crack pipes, $2,237 cash and firearms.” Detective James O’Rourke charged 49-year-old Chike Collier, 48-year-old Carlos Elder, Debra Brooks, 26-year-old Shane Johnson and 63-year-old Charles Tigg with Manufacture, Deliver, Sell and/or Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic (cocaine). Tigg was also charged with maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of manufacturing/selling narcotics.

The cases were scheduled before the courts on Wednesday, but it appears as if most if not all of the cases have been rescheduled or will be rescheduled.

Scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday (May 25, 2022):

Charles Rufus Tigg is facing a schedule II drug charge dealing with cocaine and a charge for maintaining a dwelling for drug use. Tigg will appear before Judge Lisa Eischeid on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. However, it looks as if the hearing date for Tigg will be rescheduled. Tigg is out of jail on a $25,000 bond.

Chike Collier was previously convicted on a cocaine offense in 2020.  Collier was on bond from the 2020 conviction when arrested in March. His probation records from the Lebanon, Tennessee Probation and Parole Office show that his conviction from 2-years ago was scheduled to end in November of 2028. Collier will appear in General Sessions Court for a hearing before Judge Lisa Eischeid on Wednesday (May 25, 2022).  Collier is facing schedule II drug charges for cocaine.

Shane Johnson has been on parole since June of 2020. Looking back to 2018, Johnson was convicted on multiple cocaine possession charges. His sentence is scheduled to end later this year in November (2022). Johnson was also scheduled to appear before Judge Eischeid on Wednesday (May 25, 2022), but his hearing was rescheduled. An appearance before Judge Ben Bennett was also scheduled to take place on Wednesday, but that hearing may be rescheduled as well. Johnson faces a schedule II drug charge involving cocaine.

Scheduled for court in June of 2022:

Carlos Danyell Elder is facing a charge of possession of schedule II drugs, .5 grams or greater (cocaine). Elder’s case is set for a hearing on June 3rd before Judge Ben Hall McFarlin III. 5-Previous hearing dates were rescheduled. The 48-year-old remains behind bars at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. Details on his arrest show that he was on parole when arrested and remains on parole, despite being behind bars for the March 2nd incident that landed him back behind bars. His parole stems from a 2017 cocaine related conviction in Rutherford County. In that case, his sentence was scheduled to end in December of 2025.

Debra Brooks is scheduled to appear before Judge Ben Hall McFarlin III for a hearing in General Sessions Court on June 23, 2022. Brooks is also facing a simple possession / casual exchange charge and a possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia - uses and activities charge for an arrest that occurred on January 26, 2022.
