Segment 1

Lisa Marchesoni, PIO at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, shares information about law enforcement activities: 

• The 8-day adventure of "Ed the Zebra" captured the imagination of the world. Lisa tells about regional broadcasts that she did with people like Rick Burgess, media across this nation including New York Times, and beyond with the BBC in London, Sydney Australia, and more--in fact coverage in 4 continents. 
• Wonderful stories of helping--tied with a deputy in foot pursuit resulting from a traffic stop. He then realized the male had overdosed, and called MFRD and RCEMS for emergency treatment that saved his life. Another deputy rescued a fawn that was tangled in a wire fence. He was able to return the baby deer to his mother. 
• Teen Safe Driving Class: contact RCSO for information about when this is available. It is on-line on certain FRIDAYS, and an in-person "in person" class on Saturday. It is FREE! Class is taught by Lascassas Elementary SRO Chad Dodson. 
• Sobriety Check Point Friday night (June 20, 2025) 10PM-Midnight on 231N (highway to Lebanon) near Arnold Drive.
• Rutherford County SRO's in service at "Summer School" sessions. Then just before the fall semester begins, SRO takes qualifying youth shopping for "back to school" clothes. 

Segment 2

Banjo player Daniel Rothwell, who--thanks to his grandfather--started following Uncle Dave Macon and buck dancing almost as a toddler, was recently gifted a banjo that was owned by Uncle Dave. He tells how it all happened, and shares the importance of keeping this musical heritage alive for future generations. In this broadcast, Daniel played the heritage banjo  while his 87-year-old grandfather, Thomas Maupin—a national champion buck dancer and recipient of the National Heritage Fellowship—took the stage. The crowd was spellbound, witnessing not just a performance, but a living legacy.
