MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Drivers should prepare for major delays on Interstate 24 this weekend. Middle Tennessee Electric crews are scheduled to perform extensive electrical line work near Exit 76 on Sunday morning, June 28th. The utility project will require one full interstate traffic stoppage alongside multiple rolling roadblocks.

Work begins at sunrise and should wrap up within six hours. Crews are replacing and upgrading two three-phase conductor circuits. This upgrade allows the Tennessee Department of Transportation to safely widen the westbound exit ramp and continue improvements on Medical Center Parkway. Guardian Traffic Control will handle the temporary roadblocks and traffic management.

Rutherford County motorists should plan alternate routes, build extra time into their travel schedules, and watch closely for traffic control personnel.
