A Murfreesboro man known for his positive involvement with soldiers has been arrested. U.S. Army Veteran Malcolm Daniel Stallard was apprehended after a sealed indictment was handed down by the Rutherford County Grand Jury.
Stallard is the founder of nonprofit "Operation Adopt a Hero." The organization helps to bridge the gap between veterans and the community. Stallard was arrested one day before the annual "For the Heros 5K" that was on Saturday.
Stallard was accused of raping a woman who was court ordered to complete community service hours. The woman told Murfreesboro Police she contacted Stallard about volunteering with Operation Adopt a Hero. The woman claims the rape occurred when she met with Stallard at his office.
The 26 year old man has been charged with eight counts of rape, two counts of sexual battery and one count of extortion. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 28, 2016.
