Mrs. Betty Jo Clouse, age 89, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Friday, June 13, 2025. She was born in Cannon County, TN to the late Owen and Edna Spangler Cooper. Mrs. Clouse worked in civil service as a secretary at Ft. Belvoir Army Base, The Pentagon, and retired from Alvin C. York Medical Center. Mrs. Clouse was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan for many years before recently becoming a Titans fan. She was a member of Journey Pointe Church.
Mrs. Clouse is survived by her son, David Clouse and his wife Diana; grandchildren, Michael Ferrence and his wife Hayley and Katelynn Clouse and her husband Guy Jackson; great grandchildren, Michael Ferrence, Jr., Bryson Ferrence, and Gabriella Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews including, Sharon Campbell, Gary Cooper, and Regina Fickes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all six of her siblings.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 3:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
Peggy June Harmon Brown, age 87 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025. A native of Floyd, VA, she was the daughter of the late Fonie and Dora Hancock Harmon. Mrs. Brown was also preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Major Donald F. “Don” Brown; son, Don Brown; brothers, Ralph and Jack Harmon; and sisters, Reba Huff, Iris Thompson, Lillie Keefer, and Frances Leidy.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Tammy Little and her husband John of Brooksville, FL, Kimberly Walker and her husband Chris of Arlington, TN, and Wanda Hamil and her husband Robert of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter-in-law, Anita Brown of Arizona City, AZ; brother-in-law, Robert Keefer of Westminster, MD; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ivan Sheffield officiating. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the Celebration of Life.
Peggy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova, TN and love getting together once a month with the ladies. Peggy’s hobbies were reading, needlepoint, and she loved sewing for her daughters when they were growing up. Peggy is now at peace with her Lord and Savior.
John "Jack" William McCray, born on November 6, 1945, in Upland, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 8, 2024, in Tarpon Springs, Florida. A proud Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, Jack served from 1966 to 1972, demonstrating his dedication to his country during a pivotal time in history.
Patsy "Pat" Faye McCray, born on January 2, 1945, in Bradyville, TN, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2015, in Florence, SC. A beloved figure to many, Pat was known for her vibrant personality, diverse talents, and unwavering determination throughout her life.
They leave behind sons, Mark Alan Shelton and Brian Keith Shelton as well as cherished grandchildren, Zachary John Shelton and Abigail Lynn Shelton. Jack is also survived by his sister, Lisa McCray, they are survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.
They will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege to know them, especially family and friends. Jack was preceded by his parents, John Millard McCray and Angelene Trudell (Ruark) McCray, and his sister Sheila Locke. Pat was preceded by her parents, Alfred Ulysses and Lela Eva (Espy) Spry, brothers, Ellis (Sammie) Spry, Alden (Cora) Spry, Johnnie (Wanda Lee) Spry, and Boyd (Patricia) Spry, she is also preceded by a sister, Laura (Herschel) Trail.
A graveside service to honor Jack and Pat's lives and lay them to rest together will be held on June 21, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM at Midway Church of Christ Cemetery in Bradyville, Tennessee. Jeff Spry will officiate. The US Army Honor Guard will be in attendance to present funeral honors for Jack. Jack and Pat's legacy of hard work, resilience, and love for their family will continue to inspire those who loved him.
Mr. Larry W. Riley, Sr., age 70, of Lascassas, TN passed away peacefully with his family by his side Thursday, June 12, 2025. He was a native of Lexington, VA. Larry worked as an elevator mechanic for over 40 years. He enjoyed turkey hunting, local camping with family, and travel camping in Florida three months of the year. Larry loved being with his family and playing games. He was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ.
Larry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Glenda Riley; children, Larry W. Riley, Jr. and his wife Toni, Emily Jo Reed and her husband Jeremy, and Timothy Riley and his wife Angel; grandchildren, Craig, Brandon, Katie, Olivia, Kayla, Tucker, Maya, Jackson, Mackenzie, and Riley; great grandchildren, Hunter, Aaron, Emma, and Asher; foster mother, Diane Bowers Needham; siblings, Thomas Riley and his wife Sheryl, Dennis Riley, Ellen Van Natten and her husband Ricky, and Patty Camden; foster siblings, Daniel Bowers, Steve Bowers, Tim Bowers, and Paul Bowers; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his foster father, Herbert Bowers.

Ida Marie Jones Beasley, age 90, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2025. Mrs. Beasley was
born in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee on February 10, 1935 and was preceded in
death by her parents: Ernest Howard Jones and Ruby Blythe Jones. She was also preceded in
death by her loving husband, James Russell Beasley. At Mr. Beasley's passing, they were
married one-month shy of their 70th Wedding Anniversary. Mrs. Beasley was also preceded in
death by two grandchildren, Ryan Beasley and Emily Beasley; and two brothers, Howard Jones
and Charles Jones.
Mrs. Beasley was a devoted Christian and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will
be greatly missed. Mrs. Beasley was a 1953 Central High School graduate and later worked at
McClellan's, a five and dime department store located on the Public Square. On April 17, 1954,
Mrs. Beasley married the love of her life, her sweet Russell.
A longtime member of Franklin Road Baptist Church since 1963, Mrs. Beasley taught Sunday
School for almost 40 years there. She was instrumental in helping start the Shut-In Ministry and
she visited shut-ins for over 45 years. Mrs. Beasley was a prayer warrior and her sweet and
thoughtful prayers were always in high demand.
Mrs. Beasley devoted her life to being a loving wife, homemaker and mother. Before her
extended illness, Mrs. Beasley loved to sew, crochet, garden, cook and visit with her family and
friends. Even though Mrs. Beasley was unable to walk, she crocheted over 25 baby blankets for
the Pregnancy Center. Mrs. Beasley also served as President of the Franklin Road Home
Demonstration Club where she shared her skills, creativity, and leadership with other women in
the community.
Mrs. Beasley was survived by her sons, Danny Russell Beasley, Timothy Beasley and her bonus
daughter, Melissa Elam. She was survived by five grandchildren: Christopher (Sally) Beasley,
Lauren (James) Blanchett, Joshua (Emily) Beasley, Katie (Michael) Petrone, Sarah (D.K.)
Stratton and her many great-grandchildren including her special great-grandchildren, Liam and
Porter Blanchett. Mrs. Beasley was also survived by her siblings; David (Joan) Jones, Bobby
(Jean) Jones, Alice Jones Rea, Naomi Jones, Carol Jones (Dwight) Davenport and some very
special nieces and nephews.
The family extends its sincere thanks to Sharron Orr for her dedication and kindness in caring for
Mrs. Beasley at night during her illness.
Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18th
and from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral services at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19th. Woodfin

Mrs. Annie Vaughn, age 93, of Eagleville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025. She was a native of Hickman County, TN and a daughter of the late Walter Nathan Parker and Amy Armstrong Parker. Mrs Annie was a homemaker and member of the Pentecostal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Norris V. Vaughn who died in 1987, a grandson, Tommy Thompson, and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Annie loved to sing and had a passion for sharing the gospel of Christ and witnessing to others. She enjoyed raising flowers and doing all types of arts and crafts. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.
Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her loving children, Walter (Evelyn) Thompson of Murfreesboro, TN, Richard (Amy) Vaughn of Shelbyville, TN; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.
