A woman who was in her apartment at Cross Creek on Fortress Boulevard was in her bed when a bullet shattered her silence. The bullet came from a neighboring apartment when a neighbor attempted to unload his Polish Star 9mm handgun.

The next-door neighbor told police around 9:00 Wednesday night that when he slid the slide back, the gun went off firing into his apartment wall. He then ran next door to check on the neighbor.

Luckily, the neighbor was not harmed, but said it went directly past her bed and into her window frame on an adjacent wall.

The case was labeled as reckless endangerment and vandalism. The subject who accidently fired the gun was not arrested.
