If you have ever had a secret desire to be a grass master, your dream begins at the Lane Agri Park next month. Mitchell Mote, the Agriculture Extension Leader you hear on the radio, announced their Grass Masters Lawn Care Academy that will run three evenings: August 13th through 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 each evening.

Mote told WGNS listeners, "There's a really good chance you'll learn way more than you bargained for about turf-grass and lawn care."

The class will cover the different types of turf-grass that grows well in this soil, how to manage the grass, options for establishing a new lawn, renovating existing lawns, weed control, fertilization and more.

Mitchell commented, "Shoot, you may even learn what it is that makes those holes in your lawn."

He said the course is free for everyone interested in learning about home lawn care.

Mote exclaimed, "We'll even reduce the price by fifty per cent for anyone over age 55."

Space is limited, and Mote recommended that everyone register by Friday, August 1st, to guarantee that course materials will be available.

Register by phoning 615-898-7710 or e-mail Mote at mmote1@utk.edu

Mote concluded, "We won't promise you'll have the nicest lawn on your block after completing this course, but if you don't, odds are you'll have a good idea why not."
