MURFREESBORO - The joys of summer: cookouts, vacations, swimming, kitten adoptions….wait…kitten adoptions? That’s right, during June, Adopt-a-Shelter Cat Month, do not forget the many cats and kittens at Rutherford County Pet Adoption and Welfare Services that are in need of a forever home. The adoption fee for all cats and kittens will be determined by the adopter during PAWS “Name Your Own Price” month long event.

All of the cats available will be spayed or neutered, current on their rabies vaccination, feline distemper vaccination and have a feline leukemia test performed.

“We have been fortunate to offer our Name Your Own Price adoption fees for cats and kittens for some time. This has resulted in an increase in those adoptions of 35% this year alone. Unfortunately, we have numerous litters of kittens in the shelter that need a great home. We encourage folks to come to the shelter to pick out the perfect cat or kitten to add to their family.” states Michael Gregory, Rutherford County PAWS Director. Potential adopters will be screened using the shelter’s standard adoption procedure.

Rutherford County PAWS is located at 285 John R. Rice Blvd., Murfreesboro. Adoption hours are Monday-Friday, 12:00-5:30 and Saturdays 11:00-1:30.
