A large scale benefit chili super took place in Murfreesboro at Barfield Elementary School on Saturday night (Nov. 16). The event was being held to raise money for the families of two children who are currently in the midst of the battle for their life fighting cancer.
During the dinner, close to 800 people showed up in a two hour window and approximately $11,000 was raised.
The dinner is helping the local families of Sadie Smith and Kobe Lowe who are facing time off of work to be with their children on a daily basis as they undergo treatment. Smith, who is just 13-months old, has Stage 3 Neuroblastoma cancer while 11-year old Lowe is suffering from Leukemia. Both are receiving treatment at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
Tracy Tucker at the Beehive Hair Salon did a wonderful job organizing the family fundraiser. It was a true success!!! Additional details below.

The Chili Supper will be served inside the school's cafeteria. $5 Meal Ticket Includes: Bowl of Chili with fixin's, Dessert and Drink.
Tickets can be purchased at the door but in an effort to make sure we have plenty of food we would appreciate you purchasing them in advance. They are available at the following locations: The Beehive Salon(Tracy Tucker), The Experience Community Church(Michelle Ashworth), Barfield Elementary, and Salon Suites(Heather Thompson).
In addition to the Chili Supper there will also be a Silent Auction and each child will have a table set up selling 'their' bracelets, shirts, stickers etc.
