Classes at Farmer's Market this week

There are a lot of great classes at the Rutherford County Farmer's Market this week. 

The Rutherford County Farmer's Market has free classes that begin at 9 a.m. in the Lane Agri-Park Community Center each Tuesday and Friday while the market is open. The Lane Agri-Park Community Center is located at 315 John R. Rice Blvd.

This week's classes:

July 8
"Teaology" is the topic on Tuesday, July 8. It will be presented by Tiffany Malapanes, owner of Positiffitea, a local tea company known for hand blended tea blends. "I am doing the class on Teaology. I will be educating people on the different types of tea and then some basic health benefits and information. I have been studying tea and herbal medicine for about 8-9 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion which is why I started Positiffitea," shared Tiffany. The class starts at 9 a.m. and will last approximately one hour.

July 11
On Friday, July 11, the topic is "Composting." This class starts at 9 a.m. as well. Mark Murphy, Certified Master Gardener, will be leading the class on composting. "Everyone can compost, from children to adult, to improve their garden soil and environment," he says.
Mark designed this session to be fun and inviting, yet packed with useful information. If you're just thinking about starting to compost, come on in! If you already compost but have questions or want to pick up a few tips, come on in! We'll have some fun and learn from each other.
