An elder abuse case is now under investigation after a concerned Adult Protective Services Case Worker found a 76 year old man wrapped in a painters tarp.

The caseworker went to a home on Siegal Road to check the welfare of the victim out of concern that the man was not receiving proper care. The caseworker found that the back door to the residence was unlocked after the victim failed to answer a knock at the door.

Upon entering the home, the caseworker found the 76 year old man on the floor and wrapped in a painters tarp. The man was laying in what appeared to be about a weeks' worth of feces. The victim, who requires 24 hour care due to medical conditions, was alone.

Police were called to the scene and attempts to reach his daughter who is his primary care provider, were unsuccessful. The elderly man was transported to the local hospital on Tuesday afternoon where he is still recovering today.

No arrests have been made at this point, but the case is in the hands of Adult Protective Services and Murfreesboro Police.
