Hottest Day Since Records Have Been Kept

Friday was a weather first. The high temperature of 109-degrees broke the all-time record, eclipsing the 1952 record of 107-degrees. The heat coupled with the moderate drought conditions have led county leaders to follow Murfreesboro, Smyrna and La Vergne to issue a ban on open burning. Also, officials are discouraging the use of fireworks by residents.
