Ten grams of cocaine were seized by Murfreesboro Police after they spotted a man in the area of University Street whom they had prior knowledge of being wanted by authorities.

33 Year old Maurice Malone allegedly told officers before running, "He doesn't have a warrant and what was the reason for the warrant."

When police went to catch up with Malone, evidently he started to run. While evading police he allegedly threw down an object that later tested positive to being crack cocaine.

The 10 grams of crack were reportedly in a plastic baggie that was chunked towards bushes as Malone was observed running away.

The incident took place within 1,000 feet of a school zone, which if found guilty can lead to more time behind bars.

Two cell phones in the possession of Malone were confiscated and a warrant is being processed to search the information in the phones.

Malone was served one Federal Warrant and charged with felony possession of a schedule II drug, tampering with evidence, evading arrest, and resisting arrest.

Malone is due in court July 10, 2018.
