People will steal anything these days... even a bird.

A pet store in Murfreesboro called the police when they realized a couple entered the store with a small child and allegedly stole a bird. Evidently, the female put the bird in her purse and the two adults with the child immediately walked out without paying for their new feathered friend.

The bird was not just a run of the mill bird. It was a Rainbow Lorikeet worth more than $1,000.

The owner of the store told police that the theft was caught on video. After looking at the security tape and then FaceBook, the workers in the store matched names to faces, which they provided police with this past Friday. The identities were then confirmed through the Coffee County Sheriff's Office Dispatch, as they are believed to live in Manchester.

Warrants were later obtained for 26 year old Andrew Vazquez and 25 year old Katlynn Vazquez. Katlynn was apprehended and charged with theft of property and later bonded out. Andrew has not been arrested.
