Saturday Is Final FolkFest Day

Saturday is the final day to enjoy the talents of dance troupes at International FolkFest. Free performances 8:30 Saturday morning until 12:30PM around the Historic Rutherford County Courthouse. The final performance is Saturday night at 6:00PM in the Bell Buckle Banquet Hall. Both Saturday performances are free.

The groups from Canada, Lithuania and Mexico head home on Sunday.

This is a milestone year. It is the 35th time our community has enjoyed International FolkFest.

And the major milestone goes back to the start of the Cripple Creek Cloggers. Steve Cates started the Appalachian style dance group in 1967 as a 4-H project with students at Kittrell Elementary School. Now, 50-years later--they still are spreading their goodwill, but around the world.

Again, the final performances for the 2017 International FolkFest are 8:30AM to 12:30PM on the Historic Murfreesboro town square, and Saturday evening at the Bell Buckle Banquet Hall starting at 6:00PM.
