After the victim drove to Walmart, the men jumped out of the truck bed and allegedly tried to open his door. However, the teenager locked the door before they could gain access.

Minutes after the event was reported, police located a subject walking out of the KFC on Old Fort Parkway at Chaffin Place who appeared to be intoxicated. The subject matched the description of one of the two men who jumped into the truck bed. When officers asked the man where he had recently visited, Jason Griffy told police he had been to Thornton's and "hitched a ride" with someone. He also told police that he had visited Walmart.

While at KFC, the manager of the restaurant told police that Griffy was in the way of people trying to get their food. The manager also suggested that the suspect was argumentative.

Griffy, who is 33 years old, was placed under arrest and charged with public intoxication.

The 18 year old victim told police that he thought he was going to get shot and the subjects were planning to steal his truck. Murfreesboro Detectives were notified about the possible attempted aggravated robbery case, but charges for the reported attempt have not yet been filed. Authorities are still trying to verify who the second subject was who jumped into the bed of the truck.
