More than forty restaurants and vendors took part in the sixth annual Taste of Stones River held on Saturday, August 25 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at The Avenue Murfreesboro.
Event attendees sampled the wide variety of culinary creations and cast their votes for top honors in categories including: ‘Best Appetizer/ Salad’, ‘Best Entrée’, Best Dessert’, ‘Best Booth’ and ‘Best Kids zone Activity’. A new category, ‘Best Newcomer’ was added this year.

“We’re grateful to the sponsors, restaurants and thousands of attendees who helped make this year’s event a great success,” said June Bilbo, Taste of Stones River Committee Chair. “With their support, we were able to raise more than $50,000 for the Primary Care and Hope Clinic.“

Publix Supermarkets Bakery served free cake at the Primary Care and Hope Clinic tent to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the clinic.
The Primary Care and Hope Clinic is a non-profit health center that provides quality, affordable family health services for medically uninsured, underserved, Medicare and Medicaid families in Rutherford County and the surrounding area.
“We are humbled by the overwhelming support from the community to benefit the mission of the Primary Care and Hope Clinic,” said Lisa Terry, CEO of the Primary Care and Hope Clinic. “Whether a person is on Medicare or TennCare, underinsured or uninsured, we are able to provide them with quality, affordable healthcare. It is gratifying to have our friends and neighbors involved in helping us provide for the most vulnerable in our area.”
The Primary Care and Hope Clinic serves Rutherford, Cannon and surrounding counties with a comprehensive program designed specifically to meet the medical needs of the uninsured. The health center has had almost 20,000 patient visits in the past year, the majority of whom are uninsured and underserved. Taste of Stones River proceeds will be utilized to provide for these patients’ healthcare needs which encompass not only the physical examination, but provision of lab work, x-ray diagnostics, behavioral health services, medications and social services.
Additional services provided by the Primary Care and Hope Clinic include expanded pediatric outreach through the Mobile Health Unit and operation of two satellite clinics one in the Franklin Heights Housing Authority and one in the StoneCrest Medical Center Physicians Office Building.
