Acknowledging the cultural centerpiece of the city and a state-of-the-art emergency facility, the city of La Vergne is featuring the La Vergne Public Library and Fire Station 3 in new 360° virtual tours on Google maps.
“This is the next best thing to taking an actual tour in person,” said Mayor Senna Mosley. “It is a great way for our residents to see some of the facilities and services that are funded through tax dollars. It will also allow people who are considering La Vergne as their hometown to see who we are beyond traditional photos.”
Through panoramic view, the camera captures all angles of the facilities. Online visitors can look up, down, left, right, or wherever they want to as they virtually travel in and around the buildings using navigational tools. The technology is the same technology used in “street view” on Google Maps. The interactive tours are accessible on smart-phones, tablets, and traditional desktop and laptop computers.
“It was a real joy photographing the Google 360° virtual tours for the La Vergne library and fire station because I wanted to capture some of the visual story of the city. I was very impressed with how these resources enhance the quality of life of La Vergne citizens,” said Photographer Kerry Woo.
