Beauty gets a lot more social in the 'Boro this week as, The Social Chair, Murfreesboro's first premier blowout bar, opens its doors to the public on Tuesday (8/22/2017). The salon is located at The Fountains at Gateway, 1500 Medical Center Parkway.

The Social Chair is a full-service blowout bar offering affordable luxury services such as complimentary scalp massages with each signature style blowout, formal updos, and makeup application. It features a casually sophisticated design and open layout. The Social Chair will offer individual styling stations along with a community dry bar to accommodate larger groups preparing for weddings, proms, formals, girls nights out and other special events.

"We see a growing demand in Murfreesboro for a full-service blowout bar concept that caters to women who want the "just left the salon look" in less than an hour," said Jessica Shields, who owns the business with her husband Matt Shields. "Our clients will enjoy a friendly, upscale setting and complimentary beverage while our talented stylists work their magic."

Shields said, "I've visited blowout salons in various cities and have always thought the experience lacked a crucial aspect - the ability to socialize while getting pampered. She noted that the Social Chair also offers private parties for events. For a nominal booking fee, guests will have the salon to themselves to host anything from a "bridal party," "girls night out" event, to a "princess party" for the little ones.
