We have more news on a former Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department employee who worked as a jail guard up until 2012. 28-Year old Drew Gammon, who was indicted on six charges of aggravated statutory rape in late 2013, will be in the Circuit Courtroom of Rutherford County on January 13th for what is called a "Discovery Hearing." A Discovery Hearing is a legal term used in a pre-trial court procedure, it provides an exchange of information between parties that are involved in a legal proceeding.

Detective Tommy Roberts with the Murfreesboro Police Department started the investigation into the statutory rape allegations in September of 2013, after the mother of the 14-year old child found evidence that her daughter was possibly having sex with Gammon. Detective Roberts interviewed the victim who gave credible information that the two had been together, according to an official MPD report. Police looked into phone records and further researched the reported relationship through social media outlets, according to an arrest report.
