UPDATE: Murfreesboro is aging - New apartments geared towards 55+

The Villages of Murfreesboro are now open for complete tours of rooms that are available for seniors to move into. WGNS spoke to Executive Director Terri Deal who explained, "The Villages of Murfreesboro is unique in that it offers month-to-month independent living with three home-cooked meals daily, housekeeping, an in-house pharmacy, 24-hour security and much more."

Research from the University of Tennessee shows that 69% of the growth that is expected in the Volunteer State between now and year 2040 will occur in Rutherford, Davidson, Williamson, Knox, Shelby, Montgomery, Wilson, Hamilton, Sumner, and Sevier Counties. With that growth will come more senior citizens looking to downsize as their children are no longer living with them. The UT study showed that because the life expectancy has increased, the number of 55 plus.

As for a move in date for the Villages of Murfreesboro, Deal stated...

The new Villages of Murfreesboro is located at 2550 Willow Oak Trail, near the Avenue of Murfreesboro.

By year 2064, the Nashville Metro Statistical Area, which includes Murfreesboro, is expected to have a population of 3,643,384 residents. Looking closer to the future, by year 2035 Rutherford County is foretasted to have a population of 489,827 residents. 2036 will bring us to only 680 residents shy of 500,000, according to the same study. In 2064, Rutherford County's population will be closer to 787 thousand residents.
