A Crystal Bear Trail resident in Southridge Subdivision told Murfreesboro Police they were the recent victim of fraud. The victim advised she met a contractor named “Mike Leffingwell” to give her an estimate on an addition to her home. The police report shows that Leffingwell also gave her a second construction estimate on a driveway job at another residence she owns on Arthur Drive.

The Murfreesboro Police Incident Report, which is public record, shows that the contractor asked for a $3,000 deposit for each address. The money was paid by the homeowner.

A man by the name of “Chris Guthrie” from Madison, Tennessee showed up to start the construction process, but claims he never got paid for the work he performed. That was when Guthrie and the homeowner got together and filed the report with police. The report was labeled as a “Fraud” and “Theft over $1,000” case.

The alleged incident is now being investigated.
