The Late Jerry Anderson

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Breakfast Celebration, hosted by the NAACP-Murfreesboro Branch, will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 9 AM in the Tennessee Room, James Union Building on MTSU campus.

Keynote speaker, Ms. Kenyatta Bynoe, Vice President of Global Marketing and Partnership at Spalding, will speak on this year's theme - "We are Better Together."

Ms. Harriet Wallace of Fox 17 News is this year's Mistress of Ceremonies.

Entertainment will be provided by Pastor Donald Whitmore and the MTSU College Chapter of NAACP.

Inspired by the late Jerry Anderson, who, on May 27, 1989, lost his life, after rescuing two children from drowning in the storm-swollen waters of Stones River, the Hero and Humanitarian Awards are given to individuals and organizations that exemplify the same selfless courage in making lives better.
