Area Schools Tops in Statewide Ranking from SchoolDigger.com

Some of the best elementary, middle and high schools in the state are right here. This according to a ranking from SchoolDigger.com, a website that ranks schools and school districts based on TCAP test scores.

Discovery School at Reeves-Rogers (which is now Discovery School at Bellwood) was ranked number one in the state while McFadden School of Excellence was fourth in their ranking of elementary schools. Stewarts Creek Elementary, Thurman Francis Arts Academy, Eagleville and Homer Pittard Campus School were in the top 100 and just outside the top 100 were Lascassas Elementary, Wilson Elementary and Blackman Elementary. There were 835 elementary schools ranked.

Of the 458 middle schools, Rutherford County took the top two spots. Thurman Francis Arts Academy was first while Central Magnet was second. Stewarts Creek, Rockvale, Christiana and Siegel Middle Schools were in the top 50.

There were 294 high schools in the ranking. Central Magnet was the third best high school in the state. Blackman came in 49th, Eagleville 62nd, Riverdale 96th, Oakland 102nd, Siegel 104th, Smyrna 107th.

As a district, Rutherford County ranks 13th in the state with 40-thousand plus students. Murfreesboro City was 29th with just over 72-hundred students.

The SchoolDigger website rankings are available for all Tennessee public elementary, middle, and high schools that have published TCAP scores for the latest year. The TCAP scores were released in September of last year and the latest ranking from SchoolDigger came out January 1st.
