Not Terrorism, but Spending
Murfreesboro was his first stop in a three-day tour of Middle Tennessee. Corker noted that no business would ever last if was run like the government . . .
The former Chattanooga mayor and business developer gave an example that brought total silence to the room . . .
Illegal Immigration
Senator Corker was re-elected to serve a second term last November. He told the group of Rotarians that constituents often ask him to help with issues dealing with illegal immigration.
Home Loans
The final issue discussed at the Murfreesboro Rotary meeting was government secured home loans. Senator Corker said that shortly after he took office, the housing market collapsed. At that time, federally secured loans shielded financial instutions from heavy losses and put the risk on the government--and in reality tax payers.
The senator has legislation being considered that would change the way home loans are set-up . . .
