Aug 21, 2013 at 06:28 am by Bryan Barrett

Sadie Layne Smith is  only 11 months old and has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Neuroblastoma cancer.  The Murfreesboro toddler is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

A benefit concert for Sadie featuring PennyRae and Stop Motion Radio, a cut-a-thon, and a silent auction will be held on Sunday (8/25/13). The benefit concert will be held for Sadie in front of The Beehive Salon at 2805 Old Fort Parkway from 2pm - 6pm.

The Live 4 Tay Foundation will be at Sadie's event to support her.  The group will also be presenting Sadie's family with a check at the event, which is a result of their 4th Annual Play 4 Tay softball tournament that was held earlier this month.  Tay is the nickname Taylor Filorimo, a Rutherford County child who died after a battle with cancer at the age of 16 last year. Taylor was first diagnosed in August 2009 with a rare form of renal cell carcinoma.

Donations for Sadie (both financial and for the silent auction) can be dropped off at The Beehive Salon.
