Read To Succeed to Benefit from Jingle Jam at Bonhoeffer's

Dec 10, 2013 at 06:30 pm by Bryan Barrett

The first annual Jingle Jam is set to take place on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 6:30-8:00 PM at Bonhoeffer’s, 610 Dill Lane, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37130. This event will feature live music, food, a chance to meet Santa Claus, storybook readings, and arts and crafts.  Moreover, this night will serve as a book drive for Rutherford County’s Read to Succeed Program and will be hosted by Raiders for Young Children (RYC).

Raiders for Young Children is an MTSU student organization made up of education and related majors focused on serving young children. RYC members spends much of their time devoted to volunteer work and attending professional development conferences so that they may best serve children. This year RYC is positioning themselves as volunteer advocates for Rutherford County’s Read to Succeed.

Raiders for Young Children is inspired by Read to Succeed’s numerous reading programs and events for children, adults, and families in Murfreesboro and Rutherford County. RYC‘s goal is to collect hundreds of children’s books for Read Succeed at the Jingle Jam. This fun-filled family event is of no cost to attend, though RYC asks that you bring a new or gently used book to the event. RYC’s hope for this event is to promote literacy and have a great time while doing so in the spirit of giving.
