The operator of a van was placed under citizens arrest by a worker clearing debris at the old Middle Tennessee Medical Center. The worker told police he was blocking traffic while crews tore down the old crosswalk that connected the Greenland Drive side of the hospital with the Highland Avenue building when a van drove through their barrier and sped up when he saw the worker telling him to stop. Murfreesboro Police labeled the incident as an aggravated assault. The van operator will now have to answer to a judge as to why he was allegedly using his vehicle as a weapon to target a worker.
