The motorcyclist killed in this Monday morning's three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard in Nashville is identified as Brandon Rajaphoumy, 21, of Smyrna.
The preliminary investigation shows that Rajaphoumy was a riding his 2007 Kawasaki south on Murfreesboro Pike when a northbound Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Thomas Speck, 59, of Lavergne, pulled into his path while attempting to turn left onto Old Hickory Boulevard. The motorcycle collided with the Cobalt and a 2010 Chrysler 300.
Rajaphoumy died at the scene. Neither Speck nor the driver of the Chrysler, Travis Green, 44, of Lavergne, was injured.
The primary contributing factor in this crash appears to be failure to yield on the part of Speck. There was no evidence at the scene of alcohol or drug involvement. The investigation is continuing.
