Giant Crane For Judicial Center Construction Arrived

Mayor Ernest Burgess told NewsRadio WGNS that a giant 100-foot crane arrived Monday (8/1/2016) morning at the Judicial Center construction site. He said this equipment will erect the steel girder infrastructure of the new complex, and it will soon be rising out of the ground.

The pieces of the giant crane were brought to the site on several trailer trucks and then put together, section by section, on the closed Bell Street that's adjacent to the construction site.

A new 366 car parking garage will complement the $73-million judicial structure. Completion of the parking structure is expected in 2017 and the judicial building by 2018.
