A man who faced charges of sexual battery against a Murfreesboro hair stylist has been sentenced to jail.

In 2016, A 53 year old Murfreesboro man was arrested after a sexual battery was reported at Sports Clips on Memorial Boulevard. Thomas Dewey Hoss, who went to the barber shop to get a haircut, was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery after the stylish new do.

Detective Tommy Roberts wrote in a report, "Investigation showed that Mr. Hoss did make inappropriate comments, tried to kiss and also grabbed the victim's buttocks without her consent." The victim in the case was a woman who cuts hair at Sports Clips.

In 2017, the suspect was indicted by a grand jury. Then, the case eventually made its way to a Rutherford County Courtroom this month.

On February 20, 2018, Hoss plead guilty to "Attempted Sexual Battery," which is a class A misdemeanor. The local resident was sentenced by Judge Royce Taylor to 11 months and 29 days in jail. However, the jail time will be suspended and Hoss will spend his time under supervised probation.

According to court documents, Hoss will also undergo a Psychosexual Evaluation and comply with the Sexual Offender Registry in Tennessee. He is also forbidden to have contact with the victim.

Psychosexual Evaluation: This evaluation examines the subject's sexual interests, attitudes and behaviors to see if there are deviancy issues. It also evaluates the person's risk for re-offending or acting out sexually in the future.
