The old slogan "Rain, sleet or snow--nothing stops the post office" certainly proved true when Smyrna Postal Carrier Edgar Prosper came across a patron in distress. In fact, he is credited with saving a life.
Postman Edgar Prosper was delivering mail on his Smyrna route, when he saw a resident in a diebetic coma, lying beside his lawnmower. Prosper got a neighbor to call 911, while he stayed with the victim until paramedics arrived.
That was all during the past lawn mowing season, and the two men had not crossed paths until Friday (3/1/2019) at the Smyrna Post Office. It was there that Postal Carrier Edgar Prosper was honored.
