Recently, State Representative Mike Sparks (R-Smyrna) presented a proclamation to honor the extraordinary work of longtime Food Lion employee Dave Albert.

Albert has served as a Food Lion employee for an outstanding 30 years of service. During his incredible tenure, he has never missed a single day of work. Albert even noted his enduring stamina, thanks to family and friends. He also praised Food Lion for not only being a great employer but a great servicer to the people of Smyrna.

"As a weekly customer of the Food Lion service chain, I can personally attest to Dave's work ethic and character," said Representative Sparks. "It is an honor for me to present this proclamation to him recognizing his 30 years of service. Furthermore, Food Lion has been a great employer to Dave and a friend to all in our community over the years. We appreciate their many contributions to Smyrna and surrounding areas."

Albert announced his retirement on May 16, and called his experience a blessing. He was surprised to have received the proclamation from Sparks for his service and felt overwhelmed and appreciative.

Mike Sparks represents House District 49. Representative Sparks is the chairman of the Consumer Subcommittee. He also serves on the Insurance Committee, Consumer and Human Resources Committee, Naming, Designating, and Private Acts Committee, and the Property and Casualty Subcommittee.
